Babes Net runs this site. This page says what we collect, why, who else sees it, and how to get it back. It is meant to be read rather than survived.
The short version
We collect one thing directly from you: your email address, and only if you type it into the subscribe box. There are no advertising cookies, no tracking of you across other websites, and nothing is sold or rented to anyone.
What we collect
Your email address
Only if you give it to us through the subscribe pop-up.
- Why: to send you news about Babes Net — events, meet-ups and workshops.
- Lawful basis: your consent, given when you submit the form.
- Where it goes: Resend, our email provider, which holds the list and sends the emails.
- How long: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
- Changing your mind: every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can write to hello@babesnet.xyz at any time.
Your IP address
Every web server sees the IP address of the device asking for a page, and this one is no exception.
- We use it in the moment to rate-limit the subscribe form so it can’t be flooded. Those counts sit in memory for a few minutes and are never written down.
- Vercel, our host, processes IP addresses as part of serving and protecting the site.
- We never store your IP address next to your email address.
Page analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It sets no cookies, doesn’t follow you to other websites and doesn’t build a profile of you. It tells us how many people visited a page, not who they were.
Things kept in your browser
The subscribe pop-up remembers three things using your browser’s local storage: whether you have already subscribed, when you last dismissed it, and which of the two photos you last saw. None of it ever leaves your device or reaches us, and clearing your browser data clears it.
We use no cookies at all. The fonts are served from this site rather than a font network, so loading a page makes no request to any other company.
Forms hosted elsewhere
“Join Us” and “Partner” open Google Forms. Anything you enter there is handled by Google as well as by us, under Google’s own privacy policy.
Who else sees it
Only the companies that make the site work:
- Resend — holds the mailing list and sends the emails. Stored in the European Union (Ireland).
- Vercel — hosts the site and provides its analytics. United States.
- Google — runs the Join Us and Partner forms. United States.
Nobody else. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising.
Your email address stays in the EU — we chose an Irish region for the mailing list deliberately, because it is the only genuinely personal thing we hold. Vercel and Google are US-based, so what they handle — page requests, and anything you type into the two Google Forms — may be transferred outside the UK and the EEA. Both offer data processing terms incorporating the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or the EEA you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or stop what we’re doing with it, or hand it over in a portable format. You can withdraw your consent whenever you like. None of it costs anything and none of it is any trouble.
Write to hello@babesnet.xyz and we’ll sort it out. If you think we’ve got it wrong, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
This site isn’t aimed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect anything from anyone under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
